British Airways is the first carrier to resume flights to Libya when Heathrow-Tripoli services begin again from 1 May 2012. Virgin Australia has introduced Business Class on most domestic routes across the country. From 15 May, passengers will have on offer an Airbus A330 “coast to coast” service to include double daily Melbourne to Perth return flights.
Aberdeen Airport has announced that it will be investing £45 million in improving and expanding its terminal. Through 2012, £4.5 million will be spent providing increased capacity and improved passenger services to the main building. Other projects over the next 10 years include expanding the international arrivals and security areas. Aberdeen Airport was the fastest growing of all the airports in the UK throughout 2011, and in order to ensure that the airport continues to provide customers with the highest standard of service, capacity needed to be increased and facilities needed to be updated so that an improved service could be delivered. Dubai Airport has launched a mobile application for Apple and Android devices, enabling users to easily navigate the transport hub. The app, named myDXB, consists of a directory of the services and facilities at all three terminals and a “smart map” to locate them. The convenience also provides users with real-time flight status updates along with corresponding gate numbers.
